Example

  • 음식이 너무 매운데 물을 넣어 주시면 좋겠어요.
    The food is too spicy. Could you add more water?

Waiting for a response

...and?, ...but?
It can be used to express the expectation for a response from the listener.
Example
  • 오늘은 바쁜데...
    Today is a bit busy...
  • 제가 머리가 많이 아픈데.
    My head hurts a lot.

Expressing disagreement

Usually expressed in an answer (think of this example as 2 person dialog):

  • 오늘 날씨가 추워요. 저는 추운데요.
    The weather isn't cold today. But I'm cold.

Expressing a surprise

  • 여자 친구가 정말 예븐데요!
    Your girlfriend is really pretty!
  • 한국말을 아주 잘하시는데요.
    You speak Korean very well.
