Time of an action

at
Indicates the time of the action. Can be used with days, hours, seasons, etc.
Example
  • 비행기는 아홉 시에 출발합니다.
    The plane leaves at nine o'clock.
  • 저는 지난주에 감기에 걸렸어요.
    I caught a cold last week.

Location

in, on
When used with 있다 or 없다, it express the location of a person or thing.
Example
  • 소파 위에 고양이가 있어요.
    There is a cat on the sofa.
  • 집에 안 쓰는 나무판자나 널빤지 같은 거 없나?
    Do we have any unused wooden boards or planks that we don't use at home?

Direction

to, toward
When used with verbs of movement, it express the direction of the action.
Example
  • 저기 빈자리에 가서 앉고.
    Go sit in the empty seat over there.
  • 여동생은 학교에 남동생은 유치원에 갑니다.
    My younger sister goes to school, my younger brother goes to kindergarten.
