Irregular Verbs

Irregular 르

Rule
For most verbs that end with , is replaced by ㄹㄹ.

An example with the verb 다르다 and 아요 ending:

  1. 다르다 + 아요
  2. + 아요
  3. ㄹㄹ + 아요
  4. 달ㄹ + 아요
  5. 달라요

Irregular ㄹ

Rule
- When the ending start with , or then from the verb is omitted.
- When the ending start with , from the ending is omitted.

Irregular ㅂ

Rule
- When the verb is 돕다 or 곱다, is replaced by .
- Otherwise, is replaced by .

Irregular ㅎ

Rule
- On verb and when the ending start with a , both and are omitted.
- On verb and when the ending start with a or , is omitted and is added.
- Otherwise, on verb and when the ending start with a vowel, is omitted.

Irregular ㅡ

Rule
is always omitted when adding an ending that start with 아/어.

Irregular ㄷ

Rule
For a few verbs that end with and the ending start with a vowel, is replaced by .

Rule
For a few verbs that end with and the ending start with a vowel, is omitted.
