Doing a favor or make a request

Indicate that you are doing something for the sake of others or to ask someone to do something for you.
Example
  • 할아버지는 잉어를 강물에 놓아주었다.
    The grandfather put the fish in the river.
  • 여러분 벌써 포기하지 말아주세요! 제가 천천히 설명해 보겠습니다!
    Please don't give up yet! I will explain it slowly!

Spacing

Both version [아/어]주다 and 아/어 주다 exist and can be used interchangeably.

Common pattern

  • 아/어 주세요 - roughly translated as "please/would you".
  • 아/어 주시겠어요 - same as above but with more politeness.
  • 아/어 줄게요 - roughly translated as "will do".
  • 아/어 줄까요 - roughly translated as "shall I do".
