When following an expression of time (-전, -까지, 때...), expresses that as recently as some point in the past, something was different or not the case.
Example
  • 10 전만 해도, 우리 나라가 이렇게 양극화되지는 않았다.
    Even just 10 years ago, our country was not this polarized.
  • 어제까지만 해도 나는 사람이 사건에 관여했을 거라고는 생각도 못했어.
